The Origin
Fidelio has stood since 1899, in a private house on the Upper East Side, founded by a small society of New Yorkers for whom the table was among the finer arts. From its first evening, it was intended for a particular kind of guest and for no one else.
In more than a century, almost nothing has changed. The same room, the same single seating, the same care, unhurried and absolute. It has never explained itself. Nothing here is meant to impress, only to endure.
Fidelio serves the select.
